Let’s Dish About High School Over Dinner!

Rethinking High School: Gathering Your Voices to Create a National Vision for Adolescents with ASD

The purpose of this symposium is to “give voice” to the perspectives of students, family members, and educational professionals about the school experience and educational practices for high school students with autism. This interactive session will include summaries of current evidenced-based and/or frequent practices in high school programs as well as focused discussions on participants’ knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on three topics: social relationships and friendships; personal responsibility and independence; and technology. The session will conclude with an expansion of the discussion within the large group. The summary of the key points emerging from the session will be posted on a discussion forum on the CSESA website.
