Supporting Adolescents with ASD in the General Education Setting: Perspectives from Stakeholders on the Transition Process

Poster session-Council on Exceptional Children's (CEC) Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT)

This poster reports findings from 28 focus groups with stakeholders across 5 CSESA sites regarding the support needs of students with ASD served in the general education classroom. Themes include the need for: school-wide autism awareness, more supports, resources, and training for general education teachers, and more attention on social and communication deficits to better meet the needs of students with ASD.

The poster session was held Thursday, November 14th from 5-7pm at the DCDT's annual conference in Williamsburg, Virginia.
